The Company capitalized $17,314 and $22,036 of product certification costs during the years ended December 31, 2012 and 2011, respectively. Also included in intangible assets are the costs incurred by the Company to acquire certain patents. These patents, once in service, will be amortized on a straight-line basis over the estimated economic life of the associated products, which range from approximately 7 to 10 years. The Company capitalized $146,981 and $16,712of patent-related costs during the years ended December 31, 2012 and 2011, respectively.
